Andrew Romeril, O.D.
Dr. Romeril was born and raised in Southern California. After graduating from UC San Diego with a degree in Biology, Dr. Romeril left the warm weather to pursue a career in optometry in Chicago. He graduated from Illinois College of Optometry where he met his wife Dr. Lamouchi. After starting his career in Connecticut in a fast-paced optometry practice, Dr. Romeril realized he wanted more time to establish meaningful relationships with his patients so he could better help them. Dr. Romeril and his wife moved to San Diego in 2016 to realize their shared dream of practicing in a friendly, patient-oriented setting.
Dr. Romeril will make sure you leave the exam room knowing more about your eyes than when you first came in. He believes in taking his time with his patients, educating them along the way, and relieving any confusion they might have had in the past.
When not at the office, he is passionate about sports and is a true hockey fan. He enjoys playing basketball, exploring San Diego, and being a new dad! His daughter Sofia is the joy of his life.
Manel Lamouchi, O.D.
Dr. Lamouchi was born and raised in Tunisia, a beautiful, small mediterranean country. Young and ambitious, she seized the opportunity to go to New York City for her college education where she received her undergraduate degree in biology from Baruch College. To pursue her dream of positively contributing to society, Dr. Lamouchi moved to Chicago where she earned her optometry degree at Illinois College of Optometry. That’s where she met her Californian husband Dr. Romeril who is also an optometrist, best friend, and partner!
Dr. Lamouchi strives to make trustworthy relationships with her patients and their families as she finds that part of her job extremely rewarding. After working in a private practice in Connecticut for three years, Dr. Lamouchi is now living in San Diego and is eager to participate in one of the most important aspects of your life: your vision! She welcomes and encourages questions to help you better understand your eye health.
When not busy helping patients, she enjoys spending time with her baby daughter Sofia, and exploring what San Diego has to offer.
Dr. Lamouchi is fluent in French and Arabic.
Christine Kittell, Optician
Kris started her career as an optician in Michigan in 2003. After earning her ABO certification in 2005, she moved to San Diego to escape the winters. Since then, she has worked in various optical fields including a laser surgery center, an on-site lab, and optometry and ophthalmology practices. A long-time contact lens and glasses wearer, Kris can help you with any questions you may have. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor sports like hiking, rock climbing, and paddle boarding.
Mayri Erwin, Optician
Mayri earned her Bachelor’s degree with Honors from Texas A&M Kingsville in 1990. She studied Psychology with minors in Biology and Chemistry. Mayri has been in the optical field for over 20 years since moving to California in 1996. She had LASIK surgery in 1998 and became a LASIK consultant as well as specializing in lens design technology and frame selection, adjustments, and repair. Born with poor vision, Mayri understands the needs of our patients and is very passionate about taking care of them. Mayri is also a professional musician and enjoys performing and recording music with her husband, Craig.
Erik Zuniga, ABOC
Erik was born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. After a visit to his local optometrist in 2004, he was intrigued by the optical laboratory and how prescriptions were manufactured. After noticing his interest, his Optometrist offered him a 3-week internship, which then led to the start of his now nearly 15 years in optical.
Certified by the American Board of Opticianry in 2005 & 2017, Erik uses his lab tech skills to not only educate patients regarding their eyeglasses, but also to adjust & repair glasses with expert precision. When not at the office, Erik is passionate about becoming a professional chef, playing golf, and enjoying frequent trips to the beach.
