Who we are
Andrew Romeril, O.D.
Dr. Romeril was born and raised in Southern California. After graduating from UC San Diego with a degree in Biology, Dr. Romeril left the warm weather to pursue a career in optometry in Chicago. He graduated from Illinois College of Optometry where he met his wife Dr. Lamouchi. After starting his career in Connecticut in a fast-paced optometry practice, Dr. Romeril realized he wanted more time to establish meaningful relationships with his patients so he could better help them. Dr. Romeril and his wife moved to San Diego in 2016 to realize their shared dream of practicing in a friendly, patient-oriented setting.
Dr. Romeril will make sure you leave the exam room knowing more about your eyes than when you first came in. He believes in taking his time with his patients, educating them along the way, and relieving any confusion they might have had in the past.
When not at the office, he is passionate about sports and is a true hockey fan. He enjoys playing basketball, exploring San Diego, and being a dad! His daughters Sofia and Lilly are the joys of his life.
Manel Lamouchi, O.D.
Dr. Lamouchi was born and raised in Tunisia, a beautiful, small Mediterranean country. She began her academic journey in New York City, earning her undergraduate degree in biology from Baruch College in 2008. Drawn by a desire to make a real difference in people's lives, she went on to earn her optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2013 — where she also met her Californian husband, Dr. Romeril, a fellow optometrist who is her life and business partner.
A member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) since 2009 and of the California Optometric Association (COA), Dr. Lamouchi finds building trustworthy relationships with her patients and their families one of the most rewarding parts of her work. Dr. Lamouchi believes that healthy eyes are essential to enjoying everything life has to offer, and that prevention and early detection are among the best ways to protect them. She diagnoses and manages a wide range of eye conditions — from dry eye to keratoconus, glaucoma, and macular degeneration — and is certified to fit many specialty contact lenses, including MiSight therapeutic lenses for myopia control. She welcomes and encourages questions to help you better understand your eye health and vision.
When she isn't helping patients, Dr. Lamouchi enjoys spending time with her family, and exploring everything San Diego has to offer.
She is fluent in French and Arabic.
